WebDec 13, 2024 · It only makes the noise in the morning after it’s been sitting overnight. The noise goes away after 2 minutes of driving. I’m taking it in next week and leaving it at the shop over night bc they didn’t see any problems when they replaced the belt. Steady squeal at idle...remove dipstick while engine is running......noise gone...likely front (belt side) crank seal.

WebJun 13, 2024 · Let it dry out and lightly spray just the belt with a spray bottle. That will isolate the noise to the belt more than the pulley. Belt replacement is also a $10 preventative DIY replacement. If the sound goes away when you ONLY spray the belt then it’s most likely just the belt.
